Can music change your life?

A brief peak into the very beginning of Baz Vintage Shop

During this photo shoot, I was telling my best friend (who shot those super cool pictures) how this outfit makes me think of Angus Young, lead singer of ACDC, I’ve never been a huge fan of the Australian rock band but, it reminded me how my love for fashion came through music, my love for vintage began with music. And so, I relapse into my Teenage years.

I was looking for old vinyl the first time I visited fleamarkets, on a hunt for Led Zepplin, The Ramones, Dr Hook, Queen or Motorhead, to add to my modest collection. At 15 years old I didn’t really understand that more than looking for good music to listen I was even more attracted by the whole unique experience. Bringing my treasures back home was so exciting, I was flying back through decades. This is how I discovered vintage.

I was far away to imagine that strolling around old trinkets would influence my life so much, becoming my favourite hobby and leading me to my actual “career”.

At the time, I was trying to emulate the wild, and “I don’t really care, but still” style of the bands I was listening to….so made I  my first steps into fashion. And so had my interest transfer to another support, clothing. Through the years I trained my eyes to roll around antique fabrics, retro cuts and shapes, unique buttons or unordinary seams. And it seems like my love for music plays a big role in the way I choose pieces to put in my vintage boutique. I’m passionate about songs old clothing are telling me.

Miss Madison Kennedy and I went to the Rote Fabrik, in the Wollishofen area, for this first outfit. I like how this Armani tuxedo part with the wild graffiti background we shot in. I have a thing for women in men’s tuxedo. Like Amber Heard in her Dolce and Gabbana suit at the L.A premiere of The Danish Girl, Kicki Yang Shang (Insta) heading to her sister’s prom or  Marlene Dietrich in her unforgettable 30’s wool suit.
