I think those shoes were on my wishlist for at least 6 years and finally, here they are and they are mine! They are the Jadon platform boots by Dr. Martens. Shoes are the only item that I still buy new as I’m really particular with shoes and vintage shoes in my size are hard to find. The Jadons were quite tricky to find in Switzerland for a long time and the prices on ebay were crazy high (without even mentioning the import taxes we pay in Switzerland). When I finally put my hands on them, on top of being a pain to break in I realised that they were a real struggle to style. I had imagined myself wearing them with dresses and skinny jeans but it’s winter and I don’t really wear skinny jeans anymore!
I slowly started to panic about the money invested in. What if they weren’t fitting my current style anymore? When I got through my wardrobe to put summer clothes aside I re-discovered this 1970’s wool flared trousers. It is perfect for the cold weather and couldn’t imagine a better pairing for my Jadons.
To finish the black and white look, à la sixties, I opted for this 60’s patent PVC coat and a black stuffed bucket hat to keep me warm.
Point of this story, I need more flared pants 🙂
